DVD = Dead Video Device

Pretty sure my primary DVD player has decided to cease functioning. In its defense, it was my original region-less, code-less player and it returned to primary use 'for a little while' after its replacement failed. That 'little while' was about three and a half years ago. I have other devices I can use but I'm noticing they lack full quality. This bothers me. I don't want to do anything about it now but have the feeling that I might. Botheration.

3 words. Modded original Xbox.

Install XMBC, and you can watch video from any region, any code, no problem. Takes about 5-10 minutes to softmod, and TONS of people around milwaukee can do it.

Have modded original Xbox. Laser in drive is weak and, therefore, I don't trust it for much.

XBMC also runs on regular ol' pc and mac hardware as well...

Hmm. I have a broken PC (probably a bad motherboard but I don't know for sure) and an older PC (that's close to breaking down but hasn't yet). It might be worth a project to try cobbling them together in some way. I figure I can get a decent region/code-less for about $100. If I can cobble a PC that'll run this together for less than that then it's worth it to me. Program downloaded. We'll see what happens...
