I enjoyed Siege #2 much better than issue #1. I'm beginning to wonder if some of that could be due to the preview pages that appeared for issue #1 before its release. Did that spoil too much of the beginning for me? There wasn't that much shock left in that first issue after the beginning. The second issue has no problem in this regard. The story moves quickly without juttering forward in an awkward fashion. While this is a ginormous story from an amount of characters perspective, we are focusing our primary attention on just a few from each group, some Dark Avengers, some New Avengers, some of the Asgardians, etc. It allows the story to continue to look massive while keeping the focus tight. I had no issue following the story. There was one 'holy crap he did that!' moment and a few 'oh cool!' shots. Writer Brian Bendis is often criticized for dragging out a story beyond its plot but that doesn't look like that's going to be the case here. I like where may be going.
The Invincible Iron Man #23 manages to complicate Tony Stark's life and he's still not even awake yet! There is some comparing of notes amongst his friends, Doc Strange has the toughest time talking to him, and the Ghost is ready to kill his body. Better get it together quickly!
I really, really enjoy the Lone Ranger book that Dynamite puts out but it doesn't feel like the issues are coming out regularly any more. I didn't mind that the creative team takes breaks between storyarcs in an effort to keep everything running smoothly, but it feels like this six issue arc has been running for ages. Going back through my list of purchases, I find that the previous issue came out in mid-November of last year. That would explain it. C'mon fellas! Despite my grumblings, I did remember last issues cliffhanger and this issue was up to the usual standard so there were no problems in that regard.
Doctor Who #8 was fun. The posing in the art style is still a bit weird but the original style console room makes an appearance so all is forgiven! There appears to be the seeds of a big time storyline being sown here so I hope that turns out well and not like 'random quest #38'.

Terrible Tuesday Meets Music Monday
Yesterday's very productive day was derailed by some 'vision is impared! I cannot see!' type issues that, thankfully, seem to be subsiding. As last week's Music Monday was far too perfunctory with nary a hint of text to be found about it, I felt the need to at least bebop and scat a little before slugging the video in here, in an effort not unlike my DJ days of long, long ago. There's not too much to say about this band or the song they perform other than that this must be what Nebraska does to a person.
