Never fails

Went to Best Buy earlier in the week and spent money I by in large shouldn't have really spent. The next day I get my Reward Zone gift certificate in the mail.

Sigh.

Perhaps worse...

Perhaps worse than a sudden shock of bad news is knowing that the bad news is coming, that each ring of the phone may be the one that communicates sadness. While you never wish it to arrive, at least once it does you can stop being afraid of the phone ringing.

Wii breaks my back

I've been trying to not start getting involved with video games now that I have a little extra time on my hands. As much as I enjoy them, I know what kind of time they can demand of me. A really good one is like a good book; they become impossible to put down. Even with the extra mobility that playing my Nintendo Wii offers, it still feels like I'm sitting on the couch playing games all day rather than getting something done.

A few months ago, I bough Metroid Prime 3 on sale. I left it in the wrapper until it was time to play it. Friday I broke down and started playing it. Excellent game so far. The point and shoot interface worked better than I expected and quickly became second nature. I had to kinda prop my arm up in order to keep it pointed at the TV but that seemed like a minor detail.

Minor detail at least until my back started to flare up on Saturday. I'm really trying to not play today and give my back a little rest but it's not easy. I want to know what's next!
